I am a fierce defender of the United States Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. I took an oath as a 27 year old in 1978 to defend the United States Constitution and I am still doing that today. It is my duty and honor to defend people’s rights, freedoms, and fundamental liberties. I have been practicing law since 1990 and am licensed in federal courts and state courts in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Civil Rights Practice Area Examples
Whenever an individual’s rights have been violated, trampled upon or simply ignored, there may be abuse and a potential cause of action. Some of the areas that I may be able to help you with include, but certainly are not limited to, the following examples:
Discrimination – Every person has the right to be treated equally. When an individual is mistreated because of their race, skin color, gender, sexual orientation, age, or because of a disability or other reason, there may be a civil rights violation and a potential cause of action.
Police brutality – Unfortunately, there have been an incredible number of police brutality incidents in the past several years. In reality, there have always been instances of police misconduct, including police brutality, excessive use of force, shootings, racial profiling, arrests without probable cause, illegal searches and seizures and more. The advent of smartphones with video recording capacity has simply brought these issues more into the public eye.
Job discrimination and wrongful termination – When an individual is treated unfairly or differently in the workplace because of their race, age, skin color, sexual orientation, disability or other reason, the employer may be held accountable in a workplace discrimination lawsuit. If you were wrongfully terminated or retaliated against, please contact me to discuss your case.
I take cases in many civil rights area, including the right to privacy, freedom of speech, freedom of conscience and religion, and prisoner rights. Please contact me whether you see your particular violation above or not.
